About Me
I spent my life pursuing knowledge and workforce training with more of a liberal arts and holistic strategy than many others might choose, rather than taking the more traditionally targetted and narrow direction of one major, one career path, and one possible outcome. I did this because I believe in lifetime employability much more than lifetime employment, and understanding that 21st Century business skills require a lifelong-learning servant-leadership society is what drove me to increase my value through multiple schools of thought, career experiences, entrepreneurial endeavors, teaching, and mentoring others. I believe in continuously striving to out-innovate myself and to identify first-mover advantages in emerging markets as to add value to the societies of the future. With degrees in Business, Geographic Information Systems, Administration of Justice, and Philosophy, I am able to understand broad macro-issues while creating targetted micro-approaches to realizing visions with innovative pragmatism.
My Projects
MBA GIS Capstone Project
First-Mover Investment Advantages
This Geographic Information Systems (GIS) consultation for John Hart Real Estate, revealed that by using the publicly available Zoning Shapefile from the Los Angeles County GIS Data Portal’s Countywide Zoning page, Assessor Identification Numbers (AINs) can be identified within areas likely to be Gentrified. Since JHRE is mainly concerned with single-family homes, the Zone Code field in the Zoning Shapefile was used to run a Definition Query in ArcGIS for Desktop to reveal only those Zone Codes that are R-1 (single-family). Converting AINs to Addresses allowed this GIS to organize a list of the identified AINs from least to greatest home value, which this GIS then filtered to reveal only those R1-AINs (single-family homes) that were in the bottom fortieth percentile of median home values, as this was identified during initial research to be the most-likely segment of single-family homeowners to experience gentrification.

SXSW Airbnb GIS
Seasonal Investments and Rapid Appreciation
Consulting the 2016 Economic Impact Report from South By Southwest (SXSW), it was found that Austin hotel prices in March of 2016 rose to a historic high of $350 per-room-per-night, 14,415 hotel rooms were booked, and that the average number of nights reserved was 5.2. With over 5,800 Airbnb locations in Austin, Texas, the owners of these locations stand to set competitively discounted nightly room rates (below $350/night) to attract SXSW attendees looking to save money. Airbnb can utilize this information to incentivize joining its Host program if it is found that in the month of March, the benefits of renting the home in Austin, Texas proves profitable enough to cover potential damages, utilities, insurance, and the mortgage, leaving enough profits for the owner and Airbnb.

Locational Privacy Issues in US Cities and Counties: Situational Factors, Impacts, and Mitigation
Graduate Research Assistant Work
The dependent variables for the case study analysis are the extent of knowledge and experience with issues of locational privacy and, if actual issues have arisen, the extent of resolution to an ethical issue in locational privacy. The independent factors include attitudes of parties directly involved in the ethical issue, characteristics of/the government setting, strategic importance of the locational privacy, issue, extent of issue’s visibility, implications of lack of resolution, and type of harms possible from non-resolution. A literature review reveals limited knowledge of locational ethical privacy issues in US cities and counties. The methodology consists of structured interviews of officials in seven cities and counties located, in California, Texas, and Georgia. Findings indicate that locational data have benefitted individuals and organizations, particularly in productivity, tracking of workers and workflows, and co-worker engagement. The detrimental impacts of locational data on individuals include effects on privacy, reputation, career advancement, while locational data is adverse to organizations in legal, social branding, privacy, and security aspects. Qualitative text analysis of the interviews allows the extraction of constructs, based on grounded theory, that form a framework for understanding locational privacy. Policy implications are presented to seek to help cities and counties reduce adverse aspects of locational privacy.
